How to get to Bulalacao? Easy travel access from 2010. Bulalacao is uniquely different from almost every other eco tourism tropical island destination in the Philippines.
Bulalacao is poised to benefit from its perfect location at the right angle of the golden tourism triangle - that joins Boracay, Busuanga and Bulalacao - and to become part of the 21st century with a new, fully concreted road, connecting it to the city of San Jose to the West and the town of Roxas to the North. From San Jose and Roxas, Bulalacao offers easy access to one of the Philippines' most exciting leisure, sports and watersports destinations. The concrete road from Bulalacao to Roxas city is almost complete (September 2009) while the concrete road from Bulalacao to San Jose is slated for completion within 2010.
San Jose offers an excellent domestic airport with frequent daily flights to and from Manila's international airport (NAIA). Just in case you get bored with Bulalacao's own amazing scuba diving attractions, San Jose is also the jumping-off point for scuba diving tours of the famous Apo Reef Marine Nature Reserve.
Roxas town is the vehicle ferry port that connects Boracay and Iloilo directly to Manila. Travelers from Boracay via Roxas will be offered a choice of a ferry ride direct from Boracay or an air-conditioned bus.

How To Get To Bulalacao By Road
Bulalacao by road offers easy travel access today from the North - from Calapan City or Roxas town on Mindoro Island or, from Manila via Batangas Port. Bulalacao by road is not so easy to access from the West - from San Jose.
A fully concreted road connects Roxas town to Bulalacao and offers predictable travel times. Also by the end of 2009, a fully concreted road will be almost completed between San Jose and Bulalacao - almost complete means that there will be a six-kilometer section that will still be a graded dirt road, easily passable in the dry season (October to May) but a little challenging in the wet season (June to September). By the end of 2010 it is scheduled that the final six-kilometer section will be completed, making the journey time from San Jose airport to the first of Bulalacao's beaches by road just a 20-minute drive and to Bulalacao town, one hour or less.

How To Get To Bulalacao By Air Conditioned Bus
To get to Bulalacao by bus is already easy. Dimple Star bus company offer four-times-daily, air-conditioned bus trips from Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila. The fare is Php700 per person, one way and the journey takes between 8 - 10 hours, depending upon the Batangas ferry schedule and traffic conditions. The first air conditioned bus trip each day is at 6.00am (06:00hrs). If you book ahead then you can also catch the Bulalacao air conditioned bus at Dimple Star's Pasay terminal near the corner of EDSA and Taft Avenue.
There are a also number of minibus operators who offer an air-conditioned bus service direct from Calapan City (Mindoro) to Bulalacao with fares ranging from Php350-450. The journey time from Calapan is between 4 - 5 hours.
Note: once the road from Roxas to Bulalacao is completed at the end of 2009 the overall journey time from Manila to Bulalacao will be cut by at least one hour.
How to get to Bulalacao from Boracay / Caticlan. From Boracay / Caticlan there is a roll-on-roll-off (ro-ro) ferry service to Roxas town (Mindoro). From Roxas town you can connect with the air-conditioned bus services from Manila and Calapan to Bulalacao or, you can enjoy the frequent rustic jeepney services.

Fly To Bulalacao
At the time of writing, there are three airlines that fly to Bulalacao (via San Jose) daily from Manila International Airport NAIA: Cebu Pacific Air, Zest Airways and PAL Express all fly to Bulalacao from Manila. The flight to Bulalacao from Manila International Airport NAIA to San Jose airport takes between 45-60 minutes. Airfares to fly to Bulalacao currently vary from Php 728 - Php 1,680, one way, depending upon the day and time of travel. When you fly to Bulalacao it pays to book on-line, through the Internet, as there always seems to be a special / budget / cheap airfare available if you are not tied to a particular date of travel. Fly to Bulalacao arrival/departure times: the first flights usually arrive at San Jose airport around 7.00am (07:00hrs); the last plane to fly to Manila International Airport NAIA from San Jose airport is usually around 4.30pm (16:30hrs).
From the airport terminal, take a tricycle or minibus to the bus terminal in San Jose (approx: Php 60-100), where you can find transport to Bulalacao. If you miss the last trip to Bulalacao we can recommend the El-Mora Hotel for an excellent overnight stay in San Jose. The first bus trip in the morning from San Jose to Bulalacao is usually around 6.00am (06:00hrs).
